This unit was used in both Egypt and Mesopotamia during World War I Description A bronze four-pointed star, 1.75 inches in diameter, with a crown replaced at the apex. On the face of the star are his two crossed swords (blade up) with protruding blades and hilts to form his four additional points of the star. For mounting, a suspension ring with a star is punched into the top of the crown. The obverse has his 1914-15 scroll in the center. It is surrounded by a laurel wreath and has a Royal Cypher GV (a small V inside a capital G) at the bottom. The back side is plain except for the engraving of the number, rank, and name of the first edition. The Ribbon is 1.25 inches wide and is shaded from left to right in red, white, and blue.
