A one inch map of Calcutta, Hooghly, Howrah, etc. surveyed in 1919-20

The one-inch map surveyed in 1919-20 was a valuable resource for the areas of Calcutta, Hooghly, Howrah, and 24 Parganas districts, as well as the Calcutta Presidency Town. Produced by the Survey of India in Calcutta, the map was marked as Sheet 79 B/6, 3rd Edition, and is a vividly colored and detailed depiction of the region. The map measures 26.5 x 19.5 inches when unfolded and 6.5 x 5 inches when folded, making it a compact yet informative resource. Although it is in excellent condition, there is a small pinhole at the central point where the folds intersect, and some slight paper curling at the edges. The map is particularly useful for its in-depth coverage of various locations, roads, buildings, and points of interest in Calcutta. Furthermore, it is valuable for its extension upriver to Serampore and from Chanditala in the west to Barasat in the east, and its coverage as far south as Tollygunge in the southern part of Alipore. Overall, the one-inch map of Calcutta, Hooghly, Howrah, and 24 Parganas districts is a historically significant and informative resource for those interested in the region.
