BASRAH. Turkey in Asia

BASRAH. Turkey in Asia (Rough Provisional Issue-2nd Edn.) Degree sheet No 3 I. (F.O.U.O.). Scale 4 Miles to 1 inch. Survey of India [Calcutta] 1916. Military history enthusiasts, take a look at this rare folding map of Basrah, Turkey in Asia, from World War I! As a part of my personal collection, this map was published in 1916 by the Survey of India for official use only. It covers part of the Basrah Province and has a scale of 4 miles to 1 inch. This region played a significant role in the history of the Sikh regiment, which was deployed here during WWI. The map is in very clean condition and even has an indistinct pencil signature of an A.S.C. officer, adding to its historical value. This unique artifact provides valuable insight into the geography and military operations of the Basrah region during WWI and its connection to the Sikh regiment.
