Superintendent Government Printing, India [Calcutta] 1918 1st edition folio Large folding coloured plan of the Durbar Camp [30 x 37½ ins], large folding plan of camp types in front pocket, 8 plans and diagrams bound in, 8 maps and plans of routes, processions etc in rear pocket [all these correct as list]. [ii]. 412pp. Original printed blue paper covered boards, faded, title written in ink to cloth spine, front hinge broken along three quarters of the binding, ex library copy but very clean with plans neatly folded, London Library label to upper board and some other marks carelessly erased, London Library Cancelled red stamp to title page & to back of two large plans, internally very clean.

A monumental report giving every conceivable detail of information down to dress, composition of various guards and escorts, compliments ot the King Emperor and Viceroy, etc, organisation of tents, hiring of camels [2,600 camels for over 12,000 carts. Everything is an=o a huge scale: there were around 20,000 British troops involved and 40,000 Indian. This work seldom appears and even less often with all the maps and plans We have seen a copy of the large plan alone for sale for several hundred pounds.
