Despite leaving formal education, he passionately collected oral histories from Maharaja Ranjit Singh's era. He ran a successful poster business, served as a historian in Patiala State, and even embarked on a journey to Baghdad in pursuit of historical evidence. He authored significant works like "Banda Bahadur" and "Katak Ki Visakh," contributing immensely to Sikh history. He established the Sikh Historical Society and left a profound impact before passing away in 1930.
