Harinder Singh Mehboob

Harinder Singh Mehboob, who died at the age of 73, was a noted Punjabi poet and Sikh theologian. Born into a Sikh peasant family in Raialpur, he was forced to migrate with his family after the partition and settled in the village of Joonda in the Sangrur district. His experiences of division, expulsion and migration left a deep and lasting mark on his life and writings. However, his first love was Sikhism, his own religion. He devoted most of his life to the study of Sikhism.
