History of the Punjab and of the Rise

History of the Punjab, and of the Rise, Progress & Present Condition of the Sect and Nation of Sikhs Henry T. Princep (1792–1878) began his career in India at the East India Company in 1807 and held various positions before retiring in 1843 until he was finally appointed Secretary of Persia. Throughout his career, and until his retirement, he wrote many books from Indian books. However, the current work, published in 1834, is an explanation drawn from information gathered by Captain William Murray, the late Umbala politician, and his death prepares other officials to publish the work. This account deals with the history of the Sikhs and the rise of Ranjit Singh (1780–1839). After Kings death, his empire began to weaken, and by 1845 the British were at war with the Sikhs.
