Masque Of Mutiny

Masque Of Mutiny by C Lestock Reid Claude Lestock Reid was born in Kurseong, Bengal, India, the son of Claude Gordon Reid and Dorothea Joan Stewart Taylor. He served as a Major in the Indian Cavalry before retiring and traveling extensively in Africa and the Far East. His writing, including novels like 'The Trail of the Pharaoh's Treasure: A Romance of Africa' (1924), drew inspiration from his adventurous experiences, often compared to the style of Rider Haggard.

Besides his novels, Reid authored travel books, such as 'An Amateur in Africa' (1925), and historical works like 'Commerce and Conquest: The Story of the Honourable East India Company.' He also delivered lectures on his travels, enriching them with personal film footage. In his later years, he pursued interests in big-game shooting, hunting, swimming, and tennis. Even in his mid-sixties, upon returning to England, Reid continued engaging in swimming and tennis. He passed away on November 29, 1954, at Townlands Hospital in Henley, Oxfordshire.
