Niccolao Manucci's Travels in the Mughal Empire

Title: Niccolao Manucci's Travels in the Mughal Empire Author: Niccolao Manucci, translated and edited by William Irvine (Printed ,1907) This well-known traveller's account of Mughal India offers a faithful and vivid picture of Mediaeval India from 1656-1680. Manucci, a Venetian, visited India in 1656 and was associated with the Mughal Court for over half a century. His work is a veritable mine of otherwise inaccessible data about a period of Indian history which everyone should know. Irvine's translation and historical footnotes help in understanding the facts presented in the book. About the Author: William Irvine, an Indian Civil Service officer, was regarded as an authority on the land revenue system. As a historian, he is known for his work on the Later Mughals and his monograph on The Army of the Indian Moghuls. However, it is his monumental work on Manucci's travels that has immortalized him. do Mogor; or, Mogul India 1653-1708 https://archive.org/details/pli.kerala.rare.17155/mode/2up https://archive.org/details/storiadomogororm03manuuoft/page/n5/mode/2up
