Ramayan

Ramayan By Valmiki Translated from Sanskrit Ramdas Wadhwa Language: Punjabi Valmiki Valmiki is hailed as a pioneer poet in Sanskrit literature. His epic Ramayana differs from the 5th century BC. Until the 1st century BC B.C. is attributed to him on the basis of the attribution of the text itself. He is revered as Adikavi, the first poet and author of the first epic, the Ramayana. The Ramayana, originally written by Valmiki, consists of 24,000 shrokas and his seven chants (kandas). The Ramayana consists of about 480,002 words, equivalent to his quarter of the full text length of the Mahabharata and about four times the length of the Iliad. The Ramayana is the story of Rama, the prince of the city of Ayodhya in the Kingdom of Kosala. Rama's wife Sita was kidnapped by Ravana, the Rakshasa of Lanka. Valmiki's Ramayana has been dated to 500 BCE in various ways. To 100 B.C.E Dated roughly contemporaneously with early versions of the Mahabharata[9]. Like many traditional epics, it has undergone a process of interpolation and editing that makes it impossible to date accurately.

British satirist Aubrey Mennen wrote that Valmiki was considered part of the "Indian Enlightenment" as an "outlaw", perhaps because of his "philosophical skepticism", because he was "recognized as a literary genius". Valmiki is also cited as a contemporary of Rama. Mennen claims that Valmiki is "the first author in history to compose himself".
