Scarce WW2 Indian Princely State

Scarce WW2 Indian Princely State of Bahawalpur Medal. The Nusrat (Victory) Medal. A full size officially awarded bronze medal measuring 1.5/8th inches across and in very fine condition. It is complete with ribbon which is in excellent condition. It is in the form of a five-pointed bronze star on ornate Bahawalpur crown suspension. The obverse depicts a crescent and five-pointed star within a wreath of palm above a ribbon bearing the Urdu inscription ‘Nusrat’ 😊 Victory) and the dates ‘1939-45. The reverse is plain, unnamed as issued. The Star was issued by the Indian Princely State of Bahawalpur to those of its citizens who had participated in World War II. In 1947 Bahawalpur became part of the new state of Pakistan. A very collectable WW2 medal
