Sikh Mislan Te Sardar Gharane

ਸਿੱਖ ਮਿਸਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਘਰਾਣੇ Sikh Mislan Te Sardar Gharane by: Sohan Singh Seetal Author: Sohan Singh Seetal (1909-1998) was a distinguished Indian writer, poet, and lyricist of the Punjabi language, renowned for his contributions to the literary sphere. Seetal entered the realm of literary creation after 1947, and over the course of his career, he amassed a notable body of work comprising more than 20 novels. Many of these works were characterized by a romantic and sentimental style, dealing with themes of love and relationships and often exploring the eternal problem of the woman. However, as Seetal's career progressed, his writing demonstrated a shift towards a more realistic portrayal of rural life in Central Punjab, delving into the experiences and struggles of the people living in this region. Seetal's works were marked by a reformist and populist perspective, seeking to shed light on the problems faced by the peasantry and proposing solutions to address them. In recognition of his achievements in this vein, Seetal was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1974 for his novel "Jug Badal Gaya," which portrays the changing fortunes of a farming family in Central Punjab. In addition to his work as a novelist, Seetal was also a prominent poet and lyricist, leaving a lasting legacy through his portrayal of the lives and struggles of the people of rural Punjab.
