The Fortress of Duleepgurh

The Fortress of Duleepgurh #Duleepgurh: Exploring a historical fortress. The map titled 'Ground Plan of the Fortress of Duleepgurh,' meticulously drawn by Gent. Cadet J.H.M. Martin from HI.E. I. Cos Military College at Addis Combe, illustrates the layout and structure of the fortress. Constructed by a Sikh Army under the command of General Van Cortlandt, who served in the Lahore Service, and under the direction of Lieutenant Herbert B. Edwardes from the 1st Bengal European Fusiliers, as well as Assistant to the Resident at Lahore, this fortress was established with the aim of subduing the Valley of Bunno in Eastern Afghanistan in 1847.
