The Jaswant Singh Khalra Endowed Award supports KPU students whose lives and work reflect integrity, service, and moral courage. Through fearless documentation, public advocacy, and moral witness, Jaswant Singh Khalra brought international attention to enforced disappearances, unlawful killings, and human rights violations in Punjab during the 1980s and 1990s.

Founded by Wanjara Nomad Collections, the award honours his legacy and helps reduce financial barriers so deserving students can pursue their academic and career goals.

Jaswant Singh Khalra (1952-1995) was a Sikh human rights defender whose courageous and meticulous work brought international attention to enforced disappearances and unlawful killings in Punjab during the 1980s and 1990s. His legacy endures as a witness to truth, conscience, and justice.

The Jaswant Singh Khalra Endowed Award has been initiated with support from Wanjara Nomad Collections to benefit students whose lives and work reflect his legacy of integrity, service, and moral courage.
